Crown Point, IN – Art Russell, vice president and director of community lending at Centier Bank, recently presented the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center with a $3,000 check, supporting region small businesses through the organization’s efforts.
“We’re continuing to reach out to entrepreneurs and promoting business as a way to stimulate the overall economy here in Northwest Indiana,” Russell said. “We continue to push and promote entrepreneurialism and small business as that is at the heart of Centier’s mission.”
Russell looks to work with the NWI SBDC on developing educational opportunities and outreach workshops in the future.
“We want to make sure we are able to support the business community and support what the SBDC does on an ongoing basis to create jobs and stability in our communities,” Russell said.
LeAnn McCrum, regional director of the NWI SBDC, said the organization’s objectives are further bolstered by Centier’s support.
“We look forward to working with the Centier team,” McCrum said. “As small business champions continue to come together in the region, we are able to further spark the entrepreneurial spirit.”
Serving seven counties in the region, the NWI SBDC offers free assistance for entrepreneurs starting or expanding their businesses. Through one-on-one consulting, the NWI SBDC helps guide small businesses toward their goals by offering referrals, workshops, training opportunities and other essential business tools. It is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration, the State of Indiana and other local partners.
